Eighty AI Tools, Sorted by the Job: Find Yours, Pick One, Ignore the Rest
There are thousands of AI tools now. That is the problem.
Most people do not need more tools. They need to know which one to open for the job in front of them – which is a different question, and a much easier one to answer.
So this list is not sorted by hype, price or popularity. It is sorted by the task: writing, images, video, voice, slides, meetings, coding, selling. Sixteen jobs, eighty-plus tools. Find your job, pick one tool, ignore the rest.
The six jobs a video week actually needs
Sixteen rows sounds like a lot to cover. In a normal upload week you touch about six of them, and they run in a fixed order.
| 1. Research → | 2. Write → | 3. Voice → | 4. Visuals → | 5. Publish |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Find out what is true And what people are searching for |
Draft the script In your own voice, to your own standards |
Record or generate The narration for the cut |
Thumbnail and b-roll The images the video needs |
Title, description, upload And the record of what happened |
| Job 01 · Research | Job 03 · Content Writing | Job 10 · Audio & Voice | Jobs 02 and 09 · Image, Design | Job 07 · SEO & Analytics |
That order matters more than any individual tool. Research before writing, because a script built on a topic nobody searches for is wasted effort. Voice before visuals, because the thumbnail should promise what the video actually says.
All sixteen jobs in one place
Here is the full directory, with an honest note on how often a one-person channel actually opens each row.
| # | Job | Five tools | How often a creator opens it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Research | Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini Notebook | Weekly |
| 02 | Image | Midjourney, Flux, Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Lovart | Weekly |
| 03 | Content Writing | Jasper, Copy.ai, Claude, Writesonic, QuillBot | Weekly |
| 04 | Website Building | 10Web, Gamma, EZsite, Genspark, Wix | Once |
| 05 | Video Generation | RecCloud, Google Veo 3, Kling AI, RoboNeo, Hailuo | Sometimes |
| 06 | Meeting Assistant | Fathom, Otter.ai, Zoom AI, tl;dv, Fireflies | If you have calls |
| 07 | SEO & Analytics | Semrush, Ahrefs, vidIQ, BlogSEO, Surfer | Weekly |
| 08 | Presentations | Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Pitch, Canva, MagicSlides | Sometimes |
| 09 | Design | Adobe Firefly, Figma, Lovart, Canva Magic, Dreamina | Weekly |
| 10 | Audio & Voice | ElevenLabs, MiniMax, Speechify, Murf AI, RecCloud | Weekly |
| 11 | Productivity | Twos, Craft, Notion, TickTick, Todoist | Daily, quietly |
| 12 | General Agent | Manus, Genspark, ChatGPT Agent, Perplexity, Kimi | Occasional |
| 13 | Agentic Browser | Comet, Genspark, Browser Use, Opera Neon, Fellou | Occasional |
| 14 | VibeCode | EZsite, Lovable, Replit, Cursor, Bolt | Rarely |
| 15 | Chatbot | ManyChat, Sifu Chat, Chatbase, Intercom, Zendesk | If you sell |
| 16 | Selling | Gumroad, Ko-fi, Stan Store, Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe | When you have something to sell |
Read the right-hand column and the eighty shrinks to about thirty tools that matter to you, of which you will use six. That is not a failure of the list – it is what a directory is for. You do not read a phone book; you look up one number.

Watch the reel
Sixteen cards, eighty-plus tools, sorted by what you need. Posted on the BANI Academy page.
How to pick the one, when five look identical
Every row offers five options that all look reasonable. Choosing between them is not a research project; it is five questions.
| The question | What it really asks | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Does it fit where the work already is? | A tool inside the app you finish in beats a better tool you export from | Design: the one your thumbnails already live in |
| Can you use it today? | Free tier or trial big enough for one real task | Video: the one that lets you finish a clip without a card |
| Does it repeat? | Same input, same shape of output, five times running | Voice: the one whose tone does not wander between takes |
| Are the rights clear? | You can use the output in a monetised video | Image and voice: read the licence, not a review |
| Will you remember it exists? | If it is not in your bookmarks bar, it is not your default | Any row: one tool, one place |
The first question decides more than people expect. A tool that lives inside the app where the work ends up removes an export, an import and a formatting fix every single time – the argument in the best AI is often the one already inside your tools. And the fourth question is the one that bites later rather than sooner: what you may legally publish is a different list from what you can technically produce, as we set out in the limit is the price.
Once a row has a default, stop looking. A second tool on a full row is another tab, another login and another thing to remember – and swapping should happen one row at a time, when something genuinely blocks you, as in the wall is the signal, not the chart.
Why a long list feels like progress and is not
Saving a directory of eighty tools produces a small, real feeling of having done something. Nothing was made, but the anxiety of falling behind quietened for an afternoon, and that is why these lists spread.
The trouble starts the next time you sit down to work. With five plausible options per job, every task now begins with a decision you did not have to make before – and deciding is slower and more tiring than doing. People end up opening three tools for one thumbnail, comparing outputs that were never going to differ much, and finishing an hour later with the version they would have accepted from the first one.
The cure is to use the list exactly once per row. Choose the default, write it down, close the list. Then the sixteen cards stop being a menu you revisit and start being what they were meant to be: a map you consult when you land somewhere new.
The rows that quietly matter most
Two rows are worth more attention than their position suggests.
Productivity (row 11) is the one nobody gets excited about and everybody needs. It is where the plan lives: what you are filming, what is half-edited, what is waiting on someone else. Without it the other fifteen rows produce work that gets lost between stages – the carrying problem in the job disappearing is carrying.
Selling (row 16) is the one most creators reach last and should think about earlier – not to sell sooner, but because knowing what you would eventually offer shapes the videos you make now. You do not need a store this month. You do need to know whether the channel is building towards one.
And one row to be careful with: chatbots (15). An automated reply that answers a viewer badly costs more trust than the time it saves. If you use one, keep it to questions with fixed answers and let the rest reach you.
Frequently asked questions
Why sort by job instead of by tool?
Because you never wake up needing “an AI tool”. You need a thumbnail, a script or a voiceover, and only one row is relevant.
Do I need a tool from every row?
No. Six rows cover a normal video week. The rest are for businesses with sales teams, calls and customers.
Are these names current?
They were when the card was made. Tools rename and disappear quickly, so check the official page before you sign up.
What if two tools in a row are equally good?
Pick the one closer to where the work ends up, use it for a month, and stop thinking about it.
Fill six rows this week
Write the six weekly jobs down the side of a page: research, writing, images, video or voice, design, SEO. Next to each, write the single tool you will open for it from now on. Where the line is blank, take the first name from that row in the table above and use it for one real task.
That is your stack. Not eighty tools – six defaults and a habit of not looking for a seventh. If you want the free-only version of the same idea, it is in the free AI tool stack, and the one-change-at-a-time rule is in one swap, not a new toolkit.
Learning a lot does not make anyone good. Doing a lot does.
If you want the structure that turns that into a habit, that is what our free challenge is built for: no barrier to entry, a genuine commitment to action, and a refundable commitment fee you get back when you finish. You are not paying for the knowledge. You are betting on yourself finishing, and we hold the stake.
